All natural Essentia mattress like the Tempur mattress

Essentia all natural mattress
Have you seen those Tempur mattresses on those tv info commercials or at your local mall. They are extremely comfortable as you sink a little into the mattress as it “molds” to your body. Well it happens that these Tempur mattresses are made of the typical toxic chemicals that are far from eco friendly.

A company called Essentia has developed a similar mattress made of natural materials. They have developed their foam based on latex, essential oils, plant extracts and water. It is healthy to sleep on and its biodegradable! Their foam is said to recover 72% faster than the other brands too, making it easier to toss and turn in bed. It also breathes 80% better than other foams too.

Essentia also donates 1% of profits to envirnonmental organizations.

Swedx LCD TV’s made from trees

Swedx 19 wood panel LCD TV
TV’s with LCD’s made from wood are coming. This is not exaclty eco friendly, but it does remind you of nature. The thinking also goes that when the TV is down recycled to its different small parts the wood part can actually be recycled. Its a world of dwindling mineral resources and every little bit of effort will help. The style is old meets new. The best of both worlds.

This TV is designed by a Swedish company called Swedx. Above is a 19 inch version that will start selling in the UK at retail chain Curry’s and Dixons.

Swedx 46 Wood LCD panel

Swedx is also working on 40 and 46 inch sizes. This Swedish company is ahead of the Japanese electronic makers! They are banking on the trend to look green that is becoming so popular…

Suzuki Prototype Vehicle includes Segway-like scooters

SSC PIX fuel cell transport and scooters
Suzuki is working on a sleek modern transport as seen in the last Tokyo Auto Show. The Suzuki SSC + PIXY is 2 vehicles actually. The SSC is a “SUzuki Sharing Coach”, which is a mini car that can actually fit 2 PIXY’s. So I suppose this invention will be for 2 people.

Anyways the PIXY is like a Segway, where a person rides alone in an almost upright position. It seems the person can actually sit in it and be protected from the elements with the canopy, in contrast to the Segway.

You will be able to charge up the PIXY inside the SSC which is fuel cell powered.

No word on when its coming to a dealership near you.

Cute heels made of recycled skateboards

high heel made recycled skateboard
High Heel next to skateboard
Cute high heel made of recycled skateboards. Great for the summer fun outfit at the beach. These were designed by a university student who noticed the end shape of the skateboard resembled the incline angle of a high heel….

Over 100,000 skateboards are produced a month and most of these are eventually worn out and so this is a nice idea for the reuse of a material…

Eco-Friendly Handbags

Honda Clarity Hydrogen vehicle coming to Southern California

Honda Clarity Hydrogen Car
The Honda Clarity goes into limited production this year. It runs on hydrogen technology. Honda is gambling on hydrogen despite some questions of the environmental impacts of hydrogen and the lack of fueling stations for hydrogen.

The car has a range of 270 miles per tank at 68 miles per gallon. It will only be available to a very few people in Southern California for 3 year leases. And owners have to get servicing at the Honda dealership of course.
