Rocky Chairs are rebuilt from old theater chairs. Each rocking chair is unique as they come from different theaters some from the 1950s some over 100 years old. Chairs are made of restored and stained wood with a cast iron frame. The rockers are made to order if needed.

Handsome Russian River Kitchen Island and matching Winemaster’s Tasting Stool made of retired oak wine barrels.. At one time the barrels used to make these furniture pieces were used to ferment and age wine to give it a mellow, oak-y flavor. Now, they receive new life as architectural elements. The kitchen island’s butcher block top is ideal for food preparation and serving. Second shelf is a great location to store wine bottles; its gentle curve keeping them centered at all times. Above the shelf, barrel slats have been arranged so you can hang your wine glasses from them.

A brand new eco friendly company, Environment-Furniture Inc, from Los Angeles has a new line of contemporary wood furniture with an organic quality. It is minimal, rustic, and environmentally responsible.
The Peroba Collection is made of 100 year-old reclaimed wood from Parana, Brazil and includes recycled woods. The wood is claimed from dense inner cites, small rural towns, farmlands and rainforests, providing true diversity in both appearance and texture. Also the wood has been weathered naturally to achieve a look that no manufactured wood stain can replicate.

Some designers are experimenting with making durable goods made out of sugar. Its tough as plastic except it biodegrades easily once it hits the landfill. Plastic takes centuries to degrade while sugar can dissolve in seconds. So far lamps, golf tees and even necklaces have been made out of sugar. Most of this stuff seems in the design phase…
The SugarCubeLight is selling now after 1.5 years of research. The material includes 10 percent clear resin. It is still biodegradable and perfectly safe, but not tasty!
The SugarCubeLight provides a dim romantic ambiance compared to fluorescents, that even though are environmentally friendly because they last a while they are too bright and use a lot of energy for some needs.

All the wood from the upholstered furniture comes from green sources. The exposed wood furniture is made from bamboo from China. Bamboo is technically a grass and grows very fast, unlike trees. Moreover, it can be harvested by hand thus reducing the impact on the environment. Bamboo grows to a height of 6 inches and matures in 5-6 years.
The fabrics for Viesso’s furniture is green as well. It contains a good amount of recycled content and mostly natural fibers. The same goes for the fillers of the cushions ! Natural latex comes from the sap of rubber trees, and is a naturally derived biodegradable.. The feather fill options also come from birds that are being raised for food or other reasons. Of course they are cleaned from non-toxic substances.
Even the metals are made of recycled or durable materials. Metals can be recycled indefinitely without losing any of their properties, which makes their impact on the environment minimal.
