Plenty Magazinehas been around since January 2005. It is like many consumer lifestyle magazines except it revolves around the sustainable lifestyle. There are helpful tips on fashion, nutrition, travel and other lifestyle topics. It is aimed at the “environmental consumer”.

Plenty’s tagline is—

If we make the right choices we can have a world of Plenty

I could not agree more. Consumerism does not have to be wasteful! We also need consumerism to create jobs and live a more comfortable life. What I also like about Plenty magazine is that it covers a lot of products and services that are stylish or in fashion. It is almost like typical womens or mens magazine except that there are articles about the environment, politics, and corporate responsibility mixed it.

In the New York Times article on Plenty, it points out that most consumers have lives based on sex and shopping. Where is the environmental movement for these people. Sex is used to sell every imaginable product. Plenty does it with environmentalism and sex!
