This is not a kit for small children by any means – there are small parts and some parts are a bit fragile. The instruction book is good as a springboard to inquiry and for history, but is short on experiments – that’s what the more expensive kit is for.We originally put this kit together for a science fair/green expo and it had kids fascinated. Fun for adults even....I am growing weary of all the "brainless" toys out there. It starts with the Baby Einstein nonsense and just keeps going.
