Helios barbecue grill runs on solar dish
Meet the Helios, an energy efficient outdoor cooker. Its only a concept so far. The satellite looking dish collects solar energy and heats a coil inside the barbecue to cook the food. You only have cookouts on bright sunny days. You might as well put the sun’s rays to good use!

If however you need to barbecue at night you can always plug it in an electrical outlet. The plug is retractable and is stored in the base. The dish itself is easily retracted for easy storage as seen below.

Nice find.
I remember doing something similar with this idea when I was a kid with a bunch of tin foil and some cardboard. It never got enough to even cook an egg, though.

LOL Maybe in 20 years will a pick-up/collector be effient enough to do something like this. A solor ovens your best option for now. or a 20ft dish…

Holy crap, that’s awesome. It looks a little funny, but I’ll take functionality over looks any day. Apple should look into this, that way we get functionality and it would look good.

That’s a nice idea. I would love to see this brought to life.
