Fully Electric SUV Truck by Phoenix Motor Cars

Phoenix Motor Cars SUV Truck
Did you know that a fully electric SUV is about to come out. The launch of the new vehicles just got delayed until 2008 because of the certification process.

The company, Phoenix Motorcars, already has 500 on order from clients. Pacific Gas and Electric is one customer and so are many government municipalities. These organizations buy large fleets of cars and often don’t go long distances. Thus, the 100 mile range is not a problem with compared to regular consumers.

The cars run for 130 miles on a single charge and can hit 100 miles per hour. The key is the battery which can be charged quickly. 10 Minute of recharge to 95% capacity!!

Vehicle assembly in Ontario, Canada.
$3 for a total recharge on your power bill!
Power everything.
ZERO emmssions!
It will cost you 45K though.
Estimated 2008 sales production is 500 vehicles. In 2009 6000 vehicles when the regular consumer will have some access. All you Lexus SUV buyers do something good for the environment!

Its only 45K I read. Its the price of a LEXUS SUV! The rich suburbanites in Orange County, CA and Fairfax County, VA will be able to afford!

This is a very good way to protect the environment. As it is fully electric, it won’t pollute the environment. It is the future of mobile.

I don’t know if I would want to be choosing an electric car over a hybrid. Well, though both cars are definitely better than our regular cars, there are still huge differences. See I always sort of drive to isolated places and I don’t think I want to run out of electricity in a village where there are no electricity. Well, in the case of Hybrid, I can always carry around a gallon or extra.

I completely went through the Phoenix Motorcars website when I initially read this post to see if it’s for real and I have to say, it is. Although I am in agreement w/ the previous poster as far a the push for using Hybrid cars (probably because of his/her lack of belief that this electric car actually has power), but I am in disagreement with how one would run out of electricity. There are 2 realistic patented products out there that would elevate efficiency. One is a wind-powered generator that can be mounted on the roof of the car. Since it’s clearance is only 35-40″ max, it wouldn’t have a problem going through underpasses. The other is using solar-powered tiles to line the roof above the cabin. Although it would take longer to re-generate the cells of the battery, it would be lighter and would only use up to 4-6″ of height on clearance so it wouldn’t be an issue as well. Imagine continuous energy reserves to save up for evening use? That would be something, huh? Of course you need a back-up energy supply (like a specialized plug in the garage), but this is something not only real, but could potentially be part of our exciting future of going green in every facet of business and personal sectors.

This is neat…but you never hear about them again or see them out on streets. When is this going to ever happen!
