Eco living tips by Hollywood

The Green Book CoverThe Green Book – The Everyday Guide to Saving the Planet, One Simple Step at a Times is guide to over 400 small things you can do in your lifestyle that will make positive effects on the Environment. What is unique about it is that it features contributions from celebrities. There are many of them who are setting a good example in the way they live.

We are the bad guys this book rightly points out. Americans waste twice much water and energy as other global citizen. We make 4.5 pounds of trash everyday per person. This at a time when global resources are becoming scarcer as populations rise. Something’s got to give.

We can be the change if we simply change our habits. There are many practical easy simple solutions in this book without sounding too preachy. Use cloth shopping bags, you don’t need all those ATM receipts, turn of the tap water while you brush, unplug devices when charged, use less paper napkins, rid yourself of junk mail, no more plastic utensils, user refill containers…

The book is broken down into small pieces so you won’t feel overwhelmed. It’s perfect for that coffee table in an office waiting area where perhaps others can learn from it!

Aptera hybrid on road
Aptera is taking reservations on their sleek futuristic vehicle. It seats three and aims for 230 miles per gallon at 55mph!

This 3 wheeled hybrid vehicle still uses diesel, but the lightweight composite materials and aerodynamic features of the design allow for great fuel economy. It doesn’t get more stylish and green than this.

For storage, Aptera says that there is enough room for 15 bags of groceries, or 2 full size golf club bags.

Notice that there are no side mirrors. It has an “eyes forward” vision system with 180 degree rear sight picture displayed in the drivers field of view.

An all electric and plug-in electric will be available. You can reserve yours for $500 and the first one will roll out of the factory in roughly 12 months.

These hot wedge high heels are made by a company called Bamboo. I tried to do some Google research on the company but could not find info on the company. Do not know if they are actually made of Bamboo.

Bamboo is an eco friendly alternative that grows like a weed in the wild. Its better than tearing down trees for wood or killing animals for leather!
